The speed of urbanisation in the modern era is extraordinary. Whether it is in the developed or the developing world, the urgency of the issues facing cities and urban centres calls up to action. A clear focus and a dedicated conversation is needed. Therefore, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust is convening an inaugural international philanthropy forum, “Philanthropy for Better Cities”, to be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong on 22nd – 23rd September, 2016.
The Philanthropy for Better Cities Forum is the first philanthropy forum of its kind in the region focusing on metropolitan social issues. It will provide a platform for over 1,000 participants in the field of philanthropy, thought leaders and NGOs from around the world, especially in the Asia Pacific and Greater China region, to exchange views, facilitate cross-sector collaborations and cultivate long-term partnership and engagement, all in the hope of creating better cities.
Family and corporate foundation philanthropists, thought leaders, policy makers, corporate social responsibility experts, academia, family office advisors, social enterprises, non-governmental organizations and students.
