Master Class 3
Communicating the Impact of Your Work

Organisations in the social sector tend to rely on statistics and other flat information when explaining the impact of their work. Humans, however, are much more likely to remember and be moved by dynamic information presented as stories. This misalignment is troubling, as how an organisation communicates its impact heavily influences fund-raising, staff morale and co-ordination, as well as its ability to affect ecosystem-level change. Without the budget of large corporations to buy brand awareness, most social sector organisations need to inspire their audiences with great stories. This workshop will run through thought experiments and other tips and tricks that will help them harness the power of story-telling to communicate impact well.
