Track Sessions II
F. Collaboration:' How can we unleash the potential of greater collaboration in tackling metropolitan social issues?'

In the face of urbanisation and globalisation, the social issues that cities face are increasingly interconnected. This calls for those involved to make system-level changes instead of picking off low-hanging fruit. In this context, the need for collaboration between stakeholders has never been greater. But strong collaborative partnerships across the government, business and civil society sectors remain elusive. This is largely explained by clashes between differing organisational cultures, poor co-ordination and communication systems, and misaligned incentives.

This session will seek to untangle the web of challenges facing those trying to build cohesive cross-stakeholder solutions to address social issues. A diverse panel of leaders will reflect on the strategies and tactics that have proven most effective when trying to rally support and resources behind a single social cause.
